Tempered glass arrival | Shipping picture frames
We are always working hard to improve our products here at strand and we are delighted to inform customers that we are now stocking semi tempered glass in a range of sizes that can be problematic when shipping frames with regular 2mm float glass.
Semi tempered glass is tougher
Tempered glass or toughened glass is a type of glass processed by controlled thermal or chemical treatments to increase its strength compared with normal glass. Tempered glass is used for its safety and strength in the picture framing industry and has found a new niche with shipping frames sold online.
Ideal for shipping framed products
Shipping Frames larger then 16 x12 inches for ecommerce can encounter glass breakages and using tempered glass is a fantastic solution as it is much more shatter resistant then regular glass.
We carried out testing on a couple of hundred frames with this semi tempered glass throughout 2022 and we did not get any breakages which was fantastic news!
